Delete Your Account
Swasthy Health Technologies Private Limited
Version 1.1 · Effective 30 September 2026
This page explains how to delete your Swasthy account, what we erase, what we keep and why, and how long each of those takes. It applies to both the Swasthy patient app and the Swasthy Doctor app.
You do not need to install the app or sign in here to make this request. Section 2 gives you a route that works from any email client.
1. Deleting from inside the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
Patient app
- Open the Swasthy app and sign in.
- Tap the Profile tab, then Privacy & Data.
- Tap Delete my account, then Continue.
- Type DELETE and tap Delete My Account.
Doctor app
- Open the Swasthy Doctor app and sign in.
- Go to the Settings tab and scroll down to Legal.
- Tap Delete My Account, then Continue.
- Type DELETE and tap Delete My Account.
Your account is deactivated the moment you confirm. You are signed out and cannot book or accept consultations from that point on.
If you use one phone number for both a patient account and a doctor account, email us as Section 2 describes instead, so that we delete both.
2. Deleting by email
If you cannot sign in, for example because you have changed phone numbers, lost the device or removed the app, email privacy@swasthy.ai with the subject line Delete my account.
Tell us:
- the phone number registered to the account, in full international format
- your full name as it appears on the account
- whether it is a patient or a doctor account
We check that the request really comes from the account holder before acting on it, because an account deletion cannot be undone once the grace period ends. We usually do this by contacting you on the registered phone number. We acknowledge the request within 24 hours and act on it within 7 days of that check.
3. The 60-day grace period
Your account is deactivated as soon as you confirm in the app, or when we act on a request made by email (Section 2). The data listed in Section 4 is then permanently destroyed 60 days after your request.
We use a 60-day window for two reasons: payment disputes, refunds and doctor payouts can take up to 60 days to settle and we must be able to resolve them, and it protects you against an accidental tap.
During those 60 days you can sign back in at any time and choose to keep your account, with nothing lost. If your phone can still receive Swasthy notifications, we send a reminder about seven days before the destruction date. After that date the deletion is final and cannot be reversed.
Asking us to delete your account does not switch off AI improvement. Until your account is erased, consultations signed while it was switched on can still be used as Section 6.1 of our Privacy Policy describes. After erasure, nothing more from your consultations is used.
If a payment dispute, refund, doctor payout or legal claim involving your account is still open, we may decline your deletion request. If we do, we contact you to tell you why. Your account then stays open and you can sign in as normal. You can ask again once the matter is closed, and you can email privacy@swasthy.ai with any questions.
Signing in again with the same phone number after destruction creates a new, empty account. Your old consultations, prescriptions and records cannot be recovered by you or by us.
4. What we destroy
At the end of the grace period the following are permanently destroyed:
If you are a patient
- Your name, date of birth, sex, phone number, city, state and PIN code
- Destroyed
- Your height, weight and blood group, and the conditions, allergies and medicines saved on your profile
- Destroyed
- Symptom descriptions you typed or spoke, your answers to the doctor's questions and the messages you sent, including the copies in our records of requests to AI providers, except the summary described in Section 5
- Destroyed
- Voice recordings
- Destroyed
- Photographs and documents you uploaded, including lab reports, and the PDF files of your prescriptions
- Destroyed
- Saved UPI IDs, and follow-up dates your doctor suggested
- Destroyed
If you are a doctor
- The name, phone number and email on your profile, your photo, bio, practice details, availability and notification settings
- Destroyed
- The verification documents you uploaded (photo ID, certificates, photograph)
- Kept for 3 years after the last prescription you signed, as evidence that you were verified, then destroyed
For everyone
- Notification tokens and the record of devices you signed in on
- Destroyed
- Your AI improvement choice and its history, and the list of legal document versions you accepted
- Destroyed
Your login is removed at the same time, so no one can sign in to the account again.
5. What we keep, and why
Some records we must keep by law, some we keep to run the service safely, and a few our deletion process does not remove yet. Clinical, payment and account records stay in our main database with your name and contact details removed, unless a row below says otherwise. Only authorised Swasthy staff can see them, and, for a consultation, the doctor who treated you. Where a period below says "at least", we delete the record after that period once no law requires us to keep it.
If you are a patient
- The record of each consultation: the symptoms you selected and how long and how severe they were; your age, sex, height, weight and blood group at the time; the medical history, hospital stays, allergies and medicines you reported or had saved; the doctor's questions, notes and diagnosis; the AI draft the doctor reviewed; and the signed prescription or lab test order
- At least 3 years from the consultation — Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020 and the National Medical Commission regulations, which bind the doctor who signed it
- Payment, refund, invoice and tax records
- At least 8 years from the end of the relevant financial year — Companies Act, 2013 and Income-tax Act
- An account record with no name or contact details: when you joined, the Terms version you accepted then, and your app language
- As long as the records above are kept — It links the records above to one account without identifying you
- The summary of your details we asked you to confirm when a doctor took your case, which includes how you described your symptoms; your ratings and any comments you gave with them; the list of past hospital stays on your profile; and when you last opened the app
- Until we remove them — Our deletion process does not remove these yet. Email privacy@swasthy.ai and we will remove them
If you are a doctor
- Your registration number and qualifications, and the record of how your registration was verified, which includes your name
- At least 3 years from your last consultation — Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020: every prescription you signed must stay linked to a verified, registered doctor
- Your account record, with your name and contact details removed: when you joined, the version of the Practitioner Terms you accepted then, and when you accepted the Clinical Responsibility Agreement
- As long as the records above are kept — It links the records above to one account
- Your earnings, payout and tax deduction records, including your PAN and the bank account or UPI ID on file for payouts
- At least 8 years from the end of the relevant financial year — Income-tax Act
- The email and phone number in your verification record, and your date of birth, city, years of experience, languages, specialties, HPR ID and when you last opened the app
- Until we remove them — Our deletion process does not remove these yet. Email privacy@swasthy.ai and we will remove them
For everyone
- Our security audit log: account identifiers, IP addresses, device or browser details and the times of actions such as opening health files, paying or asking to delete an account. Some entries also include a name, a phone number or a note
- At least 3 years, and never less than 180 days — Investigating misuse. The IT Rules, 2021 and CERT-In directions require at least 180 days
- De-identified copies in our AI improvement set (Privacy Policy, Section 6.1)
- As long as that programme needs them, reviewed every 3 years — They are kept with no key that links them back to you, so we cannot find them to remove them
- Crash and error reports, which identify you by an internal account number and can sometimes include other details from the app at the time
- Up to 90 days — Fixing faults
- Copies in our database provider's encrypted backups and request logs
- Up to 30 days — Recovering from failures and diagnosing faults
Only consultations signed on or after 19 October 2026, while both the patient and the doctor had AI improvement switched on, can be in the AI improvement set. Voice recordings, photographs and uploaded documents are never part of it.
Keeping clinical and payment records is a legal obligation on us and on the doctor who treated you, not a commercial choice. A prescription is a medical-legal document, and the doctor who signed it must be able to produce it if their conduct is ever questioned.
6. Download your data first
Deletion is permanent. A one-tap download is not available yet. If you want a copy of your consultations and prescriptions, get it before you delete:
- In the patient app, open each visit in the Past Visits tab and tap Download Prescription to save its PDF.
- Or email privacy@swasthy.ai and we will send you a copy within 30 days.
7. Deleting the app is not deleting your account
Removing Swasthy from your phone does not delete your account or your data. You must use one of the two routes above.
8. Questions, or if something goes wrong
- This request, or your data generally
- privacy@swasthy.ai
- A data-protection matter needing the Data Protection Officer
- dpo@swasthy.ai
- A complaint you want formally investigated
- grievance@swasthy.ai
If we do not resolve your complaint, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India, established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Our registered office, Corporate Identity Number and full contact details are published in Contact & Company Information. How we handle your data generally is set out in the Privacy Policy.
